Overview Zachary Elementary School located in Zachary, Louisiana consists of a cluster of one-story buildings all built about the same time. The school campus is situated on a large tract of land within an established residential neighborhood. The access to the site is primarily off of Hemlock Street. This is where most visitors access the site. The property also fronts along 39th Street on the side and Karan Elizabeth Street at the rear of the property. The campus is designed so that all the spaces are accessed from the outside. Also on campus are several T-Buildings and a newly constructed "Quad" classroom building completed in the summer of 2002. One of the results of the master plan will be the fronting of the school on 39th Street and the creation of a new "face" for the school. The biggest problem with this campus is the severe overcrowding and facilities that were designed for a much smaller student population. The six additional classrooms will give the school at least 33 permanent classrooms. This school will accommodate up to 600 studuents withouth a single T-Building at a student:teacher ratio of 18:1.
